GENERAL
DESCRIPTION The PurgePac® 1000 is also designed to overcome the problems inherent to other designs, like difficulties in feeding, heavies damaging the rotor and body, low defibering, small operating volume, etc. Overflow stock from the pulper enters tangentially in the vortex direction of the tub. Detrashing is controlled by timer and air-operated valves for automatic filling, stock extraction and reject removal. A reject outlet is provided within the tub, and can be optionally fitted with an automatic junk trap. The PurgePac® 1000 uses ESID® (Energy Saving Intensity Defibering) type rotor. The accept stock passes through small holes of the perforated plate and recover the same quality of pulp extracted from the main pulper bedplate. Reject stock leaves the PurgePac® 1000 from the cover of the tub to benefit from the centrifugal forces created by the ESID® rotor. An extraction pump (customer supply) controls and creates the flow pattern from the pulper to the PurgePac® 1000 extraction. The accept stock of the PurgePac® 1000 is fed to the suction pipe of the pulper extraction pump to offer the flexibility required to operate such system. With these features,
the PurgePac® 1000 can process pulp and plastics from the pulper
tub which are accumulated at about 2 - 3 times within the pulper per
hour. Tub
A cover is provided and bolted on top of the PurgePac® 1000 to permit access to the inside. A cone cast inside the cover helps the flow pattern to stay in a controlled vortex-shaped. The tub cover is made of mild steel with stainless steel cladding. The main body of PurgePac®
1000 is bolted to the machine base for rigid support The extraction chamber could be made of either stainless steel, or mild steel with stainless steel cladding. It is fabricated, machined and fixed onto the machine base. The extraction chamber
is raised from the bottom of the tub to protect the rotor against
heavy materials that will inevitably get inside the PurgePac®
during operation. This reduces contact with the contraries, increasing
both rotor and bedplate life. An annular perforated extraction plate (the bedplate) is bolted to the top of the extraction chamber to facilitate easy extraction of accept stock from the PurgePac®. A strip of hardened wear plate (stellite) is fitted in the extraction plate to avoid the accumulation of strings and other materials that would damage the bottom of the rotor. The bedplate could be made
of different steel materials depending upon the specific operational
requirements. A high technology dry packing gland based on the use of mechanical sealing compound TomPac® is used in the packing chamber. Based on non-compression technology, this special packing provides better sealing than the conventional braid packing usually supplied.
