GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The BrokePac® D is a high intensity under-machine pulper. The unit is designed to disintegrate broke sheets during paper machine break and move the stock toward the rotor for continuous extraction through a perforated extraction plate.

Induced by the rotating action of the rotor, the stock is drawn inward and thrown sideward against the chest wall as it strikes the rotor blades.

The mechanism has a special 8-vaned stainless steel rotor mounted on the top end of the horizontal drive shaft and bolted to the wall of broke chest.
The rotor is provided with eight (8) vanes designed to create a fully developed circulation pattern that increases the number of passes that the stock gets to be in contact with the rotor and the extraction plate.
The extraction chamber is made fabricated mild steel with SS 316L cladding. It is fabricated, machined and bolted to the fixation ring.
A perforated extraction plate (the bedplate) is bolted to the top of the extraction chamber to facilitate easy extraction of accept stock. This bedplate if made of SS 316L.

Standard braided packing gland is used in the packing chamber. An SS316L sealing ring is provided for sealing water distribution on the packing.

Components of BrokePac® D

ESID® Rotor

The rotor is a special 8-vaned cast SS 316 designed to create a fully developed circulation pattern that increases the number of passes that the stock gets to be in contact with the rotor and the extraction plate.

Fixation Ring

The fixation ring is made of steel with SS316L lining. It is welded to the steel chest and designed to support the extraction chamber. O-ring is provided between fixation ring and extraction chamber to avoid leakage of water and stock.

Extraction Chamber

The extraction chamber is made of mild steel with SS316L lining. It is designed to support the extraction plate and packing chamber.

Extraction Plate

The extraction plate is a SS 316L perforated plate bolted to the top of the extraction chamber to facilitate easy extraction of accept stock.

Packing Chamber

The packing chamber is made of cast SS316. It is designed to support five (5) braided packing gland and a sealing ring.

Extraction Box
The extraction box is made of steel with SS316L lining. It is designed to support the extraction pipe, which is attached either on the left side or the right side of the box. An extraction pipe is provided with an ISO standard flange. The extraction box supports the plummer block housings and serves

Bearing Housings

The two plummer block housings contain well-sized bearings that support the drive shaft. These plummer block housings are well aligned and are bolted to the extraction box for stability.

Drive & Driven Pulley

The drive and driven pulleys are made of cast steel. These pulleys are designed to accommodate ten (10) SPC V-belts. The driven pulley is already fitted to the shaft of the BrokePac® D while the drive pulley is delivered with the stock bore to be machined based on the diameter of the motor shaft. Both drive and driven pulleys are provided with magic grip hub for easy installation and maintenance.

Foundation Bolts


The customer is to provide all foundation bolts and piping etc. Refer to specification and certified drawings for listing of parts being supplied by H.T. Engineering Works.
