Installation / Erection
General

The HydroPac® C28 is shipped as a complete assembly. Delivered as loose parts and to be identified for assembly at customer plant site are the motor drive pulley and driven pulley.

The unit should be carefully examined upon arrival at customers site. If any damage has occurred during shipment, request for an inspection by the carrier before removing from the van. During unpacking, check shipment against packing list to be sure all items have been received.

HydroPac

If the HydroPac® C28 is not installed immediately, it should be stored in a clean, dry location. Precaution should be taken to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating within some of the critical areas of the assembly. If storage period is to exceed three months, the drive unit should be rotated monthly to prevent the bearing and other rotating parts from locking up during start-up.

Site Requirement

Actual weight and floor space required varies from model to model.
H.T. Engineering Works will provide General Assembly Drawing to the customer as reference. Ample space around the pulper unit should be taken into consideration for servicing and maintenance of the HydroPac® C28.

The pulper tub and its support must be installed properly on a firm concrete foundation to protect the HydroPac from any vibration and misalignment. Location of anchor bolts and driving motor are shown on the Foundation Detail Drawing.

Mounting

Set the pulper tub properly prior to installation of the HydroPac® C28 (use care and follow foundation dimensions shown on Foundation Detail Drawing).

Position the pulper tub on the foundation. Level the unit by using the machined surface of the extraction chamber of the pulper tub as leveling pad.

Grout concrete under base - use care not to overlap onto base of the pulper tub.

Drive

H.T. Engineering Works normally supplies the complete drive like the drive and driven pulleys. The driven pulley is already installed to the unit and ready for operation.

Drive Motor

The drive motor and motor support are not included in our supply, but can be supplied upon request.

If the HydroPac® C28 is shipped without the drive motor, H.T. Engineering Works can deliver upon request a special base plate for the motor that is being supplied by others.

Setting Drive

The drive motor support is of separate foundation. The distance between the drive and the driven pulleys should be carefully set to protect the driving belts from any damage. Refer to the Foundation Detail Drawing for dimension from the center of the HydroPac® C28 to the center of the drive motor.

Driving Belt

The belts to be supplied by others have the following specification

TOP

Type SPC X 8500
Quantiy 12 pcs

After aligning the motor, drill and dowel the motor in respect of the motor base plate. Then mount the belt with the following initial tension:

Before mounting the belt, provide reference marks for easy alignment.
After mounting and tensioning the belt, rotate the motor several times until the tension has distributed over the whole belt.

Direction of Rotation

When viewed at the top, the rotor rotates in a counter-clockwise direction.

Maintenance

General

Proper maintenance practice will promote trouble-free operation and ensure better machine performance.

Care should be exercised during disassembly to place removed parts in clean, dry and protected locations. A high quality light oil should be applied to all parts to prevent corrosion. If machine is to be left disassembled for a period of time, openings should be protected to prevent entrance of foreign materials.

During re-assembly, all new replaced parts should be checked carefully prior to installation to ensure that they are proper for that particular location. Use proper tools and equipment to facilitate performance of fine quality work.
